Bound For Boston

Eilen aamulla kaikki heräsivät ei-niin-virkeinä ja siirtyivät kouluun aamukahville ja skonssille. Basil ja Ronan pitivät pienen infotilaisuuden muusikoille, jonka jälkeen siirryimme pienen turistikierroksen kautta seuraamaan bändien harjoituksia Bound For Bostonin keikkaa varten. Meidän suomalaisten muusikoiden lisäksi Bostonissa oli illalla soittamassa myös paikallisia bändejä NWRC:n koulusta.

Päivällä kävimme (taas) kiertämässä muurit, jonka jälkeen tapasimme kaupungin pormestarin, joka oli muuten nuorin pormestari Derryn historiassa ikinä. Tapaamisen päätteeksi annoimme hänelle lahjaksi suomalaisen Miesten vuoro -nimisen elokuvan. Vastalahjaksi saimme jonkin omituisen seinähärpäkkeen, joka oli kyllä itseasiassa ihan hieno.

Kaoottisen yhdeksän hengen ravintolasession jälkeen muusikot valmistautuivat illan keikkaa varten. Pubissa oli paljon bändejä ja yleisöäkin löytyi ihan mukavasti. Keikan jälkeen ainakin suurin osa muusikoista palasi väsyneenä nukkumaan - kaikista ei ole ihan tarkkaa tietoa.

Yesterday morning all got up and fastly moved to the school to have some coffee and scones with Basil and Ronan who gave us a little information about this week. After finishing our coffees and teas we did a little tour through the school and after that bands got some time to practice their songs for the gig in Bound For Boston. They would be playing there with some bands from NWRC.

During the day we got to walk the Derry's walls around (again), and we even met the mayor of the city who is, by the way, the youngest mayor in Derry's history ever. When it was time to bid our farewells to the mayor we decided to give him a little present - a finnish movie called Miesten vuoro. In return he gave us a plague that had Derry's coat of arms on it.

After having very chaotic lunch of nine persons, the musicians began the last preparations for the gig. In the pub there were lots of bands performing. Audience situation was quite good as well. After the gig most of the musicians returned the hostel to get some rest. We're not sure about all, but the most.
